What is the New Age Religionby New Talk Radio Staff - Copyright 2008
In 1990 approximately 86% of the American population was classified as Christian Over the years this has declined to around 75% in America. So regardless of the exact percentage, perhaps three out of every four Americans identify themselves as Christians and thus have some awareness of Biblical prophecy. One such prophecy is described within the Bible, as the emergence of a new and mysterious religion. This new religion will infect the Christian population. This new religion will provide an alternative to the Christian belief in God. Now the purpose of this religion is to usher in the "Antichrist" who will seize power and launch a world war that will destroy the planet. Now some will argue that this new mysterious religion is Islam for example, and the connection between terrorism and Islam supports their arguement. Other scholars claim the new mysterious religion is a modified Catholic church and to this claim we have seen the many scandals within the Catholic church Still others label the new mysterious religion as "The New Age" religion and what makes up the "New Age" religion is a little more complex to understand because there is no single "New Age" organization. The common description of "The New Age" is a blend of Hindusim, Buddhism, and Occult Practices originating from Europe. In general The New Age embraces a concept known as "monism" or universal energy. This mysterious energy is present in all people, plants, animals, earth, etc. This energy is of course God, so the implications are that God (energy) exits in all people, plants, animals, earth, etc. Leading to the suggestion that we should worship other people, plants, the earth. Essentially "The New Age" attempts to replace the Christian concept of one true God with a distributed God that exists in all living and non-living things. Another theme common with "The New Age" religion is the suggestion that mankind needs to transform into a more advanced state in order to be "one" with the energy. This is accomplished by attempting to alter personal consciousness. Such as using yoga, meditation, chanting, channelling, wearing crystals, etc. The practice of channelling to contact spirit guides, is certainly nothing new and is clearly an ancient occult practice. Therefore critics of the "New Age" religion suggest that the religion is less about God and more about the Occult. Finally another characteristic of the "New Age" religion is to claim that all religions are the same and that all religous leaders, Jesus for example. Are just people who were able to transform to a higher consciousness and obtain oneness with the universal energy. This indeed makes the "New Age" religion an attractive tool for global organizations seeking to establish a one world government, world peace, and global tolerance among all established traditional religions. Once you understand the "New Age" religion, it is easy to see the connection with The United Nations for example or with the Environmental movement which is promoting worship of Mother Earth "Earth Day". Remember the "New Age" claim that universal energy is present in all things including rocks, trees, and the Earth. We should not be worshipping God, we should be worshipping rocks and trees! The "New Age" philosphy is on its surface peaceful and harmless looking. But it is also easy to see a darker side which could be perverted for political advantages. To this extent the philosphy is a clear and present danger to American culture. But is it any more dangerous then communism or atheism, that is probably yet to be seen. If however you have friends and family caught up in the "New Age" movement we hope this article has provided you with some food for thought. Comments to The Editor We Value Your Feedback . . .
